(Ah-KWEH-teh) Inspired by a Nigerian cloth in the British Museum, this design faithfully recreates the weaver's use of motif distribution, color & texture. Woven by an artisan in Akwete, a town in southern Nigeria, it is possible that his inspiration for the overall design came from woolen material imported from England. The solid areas within the motifs are worked in seed stitch, as are the bands.
Knit in Tahki Cotton Classic, a sport/DK weight cotton.
