what’s happening at Sealed With a Kiss

I’ve been trying to clean the clutter off of my desk, and in the process have found a pile of little notes of things to tell you all about!

By popular demand, here is mom’s pineapple cake recipe from the August BBQ . . .

    Easy Pineapple Cake
    1 1/2 C Sugar
    2 C Flour
    1 t Baking Soda
    1/2 t Salt
    2 Eggs
2 C Crushed Pineapple with juice
    1 t Vanilla

Mix all ingredients in large bowl. Pour into prepared long pan. Sprinkle batter with brown sugar and pecans.
Note: I never measure either of these. After all, is there such a thing as too much brown sugar and pecans? If I had to guess on the brown sugar, I’d say maybe 1/3 C packed - maybe more but probably not as much as 1/2 C. Sheesh! I don’t know. Lots is good.

    Bake 45 minutes at 325.

    1 C Sugar
    1 Stick Butter
    1 Small Milnot
    1 t Vanilla
Bring to boil. Boil 5 minutes only. Pour over warm cake.

Eat! It is also good served warm with whipped cream.

Stitch ‘n Pitch
snp-mason.jpgWe had a good time at the Stitch ‘n Pitch night at the Bricktown Ballpark. We had a nice sized crowd and it was nice to get to meet everyone’s family. My little family had fun. This was Mason’s first baseball game and he had a great time. I especially enjoyed getting to spend time with Kary’s daughter Emma. snp-emma.jpgIn my pre-Mason “I don’t know anything about babies” days, I am the one who let her roll off the couch. Fortunately for Mason my baby skills have improved greatly.

And to answer another question that inquiring minds may want to know - YES we are having a retreat in May. We usually have the registration together long before now, but it will be well worth the wait. The dates are May 15-17, 2009 so mark your calendar. More on this soon. . .
