Earth Day
Happy Earth Day everyone! Now that we’ve told you about all of our green activities we’d like to hear about yours.
Comment on this post and tell us what you’ve been doing to become more green and you could win a Sock Monkey Tote! ![]()
A few new things to tell you about - first up is the much anticipated Knit Kit. Seven essential knitting tools all contained in this nifty little kit. Included are a tape measure, stitch counter, thread cutter, scissors, crochet hook, stitch markers, and point protector.
We’re also excited about these new beaded shawl pins from Serendipity Designs. Their line of knitting needles & shawl pins are all handmade in Rhode Island. Each is a work of art!
These aren’t new, but we just received more and I think they’re so cute I wanted to tell you about them. Jordana Paige’s Straight Needle Box is super stylish and really big - it will hold a whole bunch of straight needles!
Now go and get busy commenting! We’re really excited to hear about everyone’s “greenness”. We’ll be announcing the winners of the sock monkey totes on May 1.

love your news letter, lets me keep up on all that is coming and going. Since I work from home, I can feel isolated but this puts me right in the yarn of things….

Pooling - car pooling, that is, when I can. Also as often as possible, I will cadge a ride from my sister who drives a Hybrid.
At home we no longer use chemical fertilizer on the lawn. Recycling is available curbside to my family and we do it. Next: signing up for wind generated electricity.
I am trying to remember to take all my reusable shopping bags and totes with me to the stores, lol!

After I shred mail with my personal information on it, I give it to the compost worms for bedding!

I save all of our newspapers, junk mail and scrap paper at home and at the office and take them to a local elementary school. The school’s activity fund receives the money from the recycling. AND I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A SOCK MONKEY BAG - I have already outgrown my three bags in my 10 months of knitting!

Oops! I forgot one last green thing: we have replaced our incandescent light bulbs with the flourescent. The added benefit is that the electric bill went down immediately by about $10.00 - $15.00 per month.

I am planning a garden as well. Using lots of stuff for a compost for next year. Taking things to thrift store, or person…like freecycle instead of throwing out.
Making new things out of old stuff……
