Kicking off the New Year in Style!

As we reported earlier, a huge shipment of yarn slid in the door just before Christmas. We are still sorting it all out, so this is the first of several installments.

We set out looking for fabulous multi-color yarns that felt as good as they looked. I think you will be quite pleased with what we found.

mushishiskein.jpgMushishi - a worsted weight wool/silk blend yarn. There are several things to love about this yarn
knit.jpg
•gorgeous colors
•soft and luscious
•great value (491yds for only $29.99)
•pattern included on the label

That’s right, included on the label is the pattern for a one-skein hat & scarf set to KNIT and CROCHET.

trabajos1.jpgTrabajos del Peru - a 100% extra fine merino wool. This heavy worsted weight yarn is so incredibly soft and the colors are brilliant! It’s subtle thick-n-thin texture resembles handspun wool. This luscious yarn is also a great value 320-jan1.jpg(147yds for $13.99)

Plymouth has some great free patterns on their website for the Trabajos. We have a class on Sattrabajoscowl.jpgurday for these one-skein Cabled Mitts (don’t worry, we will offer it again in February if you can’t come tomorrow), and on their blog is a two-skein Cowl.

misterojkt.jpgWe are also excited about Mistero, a colorful wool-blend bulky knit yarn from Adriafil. Featuring subtle waves of colormistero.jpg, you get Italian style at a great price (99yds for $6.99).

Adriafil features three free patterns on their website for the Mistero including this stylish jacket, a zip-front pullover, and a scarf/hat twin set.misteroswtr.jpgmisteroset.jpg This is an Italian company, so the needle sizes listed in these patterns will be mm sizes.

All three of these gorgeous yarns can be found at both SWAK locations. Come feel them in person - you won’t be disappointed!

I had a chance to see the Mushishi and the Trabajos del Peru on Wed. this week in Guthrie — beautiful colors! I’m looking forward to the cabled mitt class in Guthrie in Feb.

I have had to work all thru the new year holiday. I just got home and sat down to relax and now (after seeing all the new yarn) I am ready to spend the holiday money I just made. I figure I worked hard and by gollie I deserve to spend my paycheck on yarn. Maybe I’ll come to my senses and not spend the whole check on yarn or maybe not.
