Oh, I am sorry to have missed this! Miss Mary, enjoy your prize! I have been so busy that I have missed too many days! I'm back and determined to keep up with this fun tradition.

My mom crocheted, she never knew how to knit. Our stockings as kids were always the cheap store-bought kind with our name in glitter. Ever since I learned to knit properly, thank you Jeanie, and I completed my first socks a few months ago, I have wanted to make homemade Christmas stockings to proudly display and pass down to our grandchildren.

No handmade stockings at my house. Maybe some day. It would be nice to make them for my grown kids and spouses. Thx for sharing your pattern.

My childhood stocking was a gift from one of my mother's friends. It isn't knitted, but was done with needlepoint. I still treasure the thoughtful gift! I would love to learn to knit some day!

We had/have some needlepoint(?) stockings that I ordered decades ago from the Lillian Vernon catalog. I believe that company is now bankrupt and out of business? At any rate, they are still in use but with new family members since that time it would be great if I could knit some treasured heirlooms. These patterns look great!

I've never had a knitted stocking. I would love to make stockings that become a yearly tradition for the family. We just have some plain store bought ones.

I love the knitted Christmas stockings. We did not have stocking to hang up when I was a kid and mine all enjoyed store bought ones as have then grandchildren. I have two new great granddaughters who definitely will be getting hand knitted Christmas stockings from me, and I love the patterns.

My mom needlepointed stockings for my brother & I. We still love them so much. Sherry taught me to knit socks even though I didn’t know how to knit. I will always remember how much fun I had and what I learned from Sherry. Memories I will always cherish.

Always had Christmas stockings when I was growing up and had them for my sons. My grandchildren have stockings picked out by their Mothers and filled with all kinds of goodies.

I’m the first knitter in my family so we never had hand knitted stockings. I have long dreamt of hand knitted stockings with the name on each one. I just have never gotten around to making them.

No hand knit stockings ever. In fact never had a Christmas sock growing up. As picky as I am about socks you think I would jump on the sock bandwagon. I love wool socks….there the absolute best. Thx for the pattern. Maybe it’s the motivation I need to try a sock.

I have never had hand knit stockings and just last week, I decided that I am going to make some my boys and me, even though they are grown. I won't have time to get them done this year, but definitely by this time next year. Thank you for the pattern!

Unfortunately I do not have any hand knit stockings. I do have some handmade cotton and bead stockings made by a sweet teacher that I worked with.

I mentioned the stockings we had as a kid in another day. They were not handmade but certainly unique! On the diy front, one Christmas I walked in to our family party, and my sister immediately handed me a bag. It contained a ball of yarn and a set of needles with exactly two rows of garter stitch hanging off them. "Finish this scarf for me," she demanded. I agreed, but it certainly wasn't too priority on my list of projects. I should have offered to continue the lesson, rather than doing it myself.

I’ve never knitted Christmas stockings, or socks. But it’s something I would love to learn. However, I still have a sticking made out of felt I made when I was 5 years old!

I crocheted Christmas stockings our first married Christmas 45 years ago they aren't fancy but they are ours. When the babies came along Grammy took care of their home made stockings.

I have never had a hand knit stocking. I am afraid one year I had one I made at school from felt and hot glue.

I don't wish to participate in the drawing, just wanted to share that I have two handmade stockings that, though neither is knitted, are precious to me. One was made by my mom; it's pastel candlewicking on muslin, with lace trim at the top. The other is hand-quilted poinsettia fabric with a Christmas star, and was made by my best friend's mom. Both our moms have passed, so these stockings are beautiful connections to their creativity and generous spirits.

Thank you for sharing the pattern. I am currently working on new stockings right now! When I was a kid my mom made us all granny square stockings.

No knitted stockings here. When I married my husband we adopted his family tradition of baskets instead of stockings. I wove two matching baskets for us to use, along with one for the dog.

No handmade stockings at my house. Every December I think how nice they would look, then somehow the month flies by and still no stockings.

I still have my original felt stocking made by my mom from a kit of two stockings. I got the beautiful doll stocking and my little sister got the toy soldier one. I have struggled trying to knit socks in the past. After looking at your pattern for a stocking, I thought that might be a good 'first sock' pattern for me to try with thicker yarn and no pesky second sock.

I received some handmade stockings from a german college student. I loved them so much, I decided to learn to knit. I went to a knit show and found a CD with instructions for how to knit stockings and I was off on my knitting adventure. I have many pair of hand knit socks.

I am into knitting tops and sweaters now, however, I like to take socks to knit on trips.

When I first moved to Oklahoma, when people found out I knitted socks, they always asked for me to knit them a pair, I did, if they made something I wanted in trade. Now, I generally only knit for myself and sometimes I will do gift knitting.

As a child I treasured the needlepoint stockings made by my grandmother that hung under the twinkle lights on the fireplace. Some of my favorite memories of Christmas time. Love these stocking ideas and patterns updated with today’s yarns and colors. What a treasure

Sadly, no heirloom knitted stockings in my family. I do have my original bear stocking from when I was a kid, and I still use it! I'm not saying though how long I've been using it!

I have my old Christmas stocking my Mom made but I don’t use it any more. I found needlework stockings for my family. I would love to knit stocking for my Grandaughters so this kit would be a great way to get started!
