I have used a simple chart to learn a new stitch, but I prefer having both options available! I have so much to learn!

Charts are generally a good thing. I actually made my own type of makers board from an old tablet case...very handy keeping track of projects put down for an extra bit of time indeed...im not lost when i return

* I don't wish to be considered for the drawing *

Although I consider myself fluent in charts, I still dislike the "do this on the right side and that on the wrong side" symbols. I'd rather see a specific symbol that represents what I'm DOING; I have pattern and project photos to show me what the right side should look like as a result.

The Stitch Fiddle website is my go-to when I want to create a chart. I often use Microsoft Publisher to enlarge, add missing stitch numbers, etc., to an existing chart.

I love charts. Once I understand what's happening, it is so much quicker to look at the chart than to read the text.

I really appreciate when there is a chart along with the written instructions. I use both, looking at the written first, then the chart.
I really, really appreciate a chart in crochet patterns as written instructions vary widely between pattern writers. There's no mistaking what they intend if there is a chart.

I am more accustomed to written instructions and it is usually my default. However, the more I use charts, the more I appreciate them. I am even beginning to prefer a chart at times.

I prefer charts because they are a visual of what the knitting looks like.

I’ve been knitting for years, but have never used a chart….they look confusing and I run from them.
