Jeannie

While watching our videos, you may have heard me mention Jeannie numerous times. If you frequently visit our store, you're likely well-acquainted with her. For those curious about "Who is Jeannie?" this is the perfect chance to learn more.

Jeannie and I have shared a friendship for decades. She has been a cherished customer for as long as I can remember, often lending a hand during special events. Eight years ago, she became a regular employee and is an invaluable part of our team.

Though we share the same age, our life journeys have been quite different. Jeannie married young, has two adult sons, and now enjoys being Nana to Caden and Stella. Family is important to her, and they frequently vacation together in Branson.

Jeannie runs the show in the shop, teaching all the beginner and knit-along classes. She also creates most of our samples. Sometimes, I wonder if I could be away for an entire month without anyone noticing—well, Jeannie might. I hear it tends to get quiet when I'm not around, without me hatching new plans, ordering new yarn and other delightful finds, alongside all the other shenanigans that seem to follow me.

Jeannie is the keeper of the list of things Keely is not allowed to do, filled with questionable decisions—and yes, that list is quite long. She also keeps a list titled, "If Keely ever does or says this, call 911; she's been kidnapped." Occasionally, Jeannie serves as my emergency contact. She is my keeper, and there are many days when I need one!

We are opposites in many ways, which creates a dynamic duo. I'm known for my colorful outbursts, while Jeannie is the queen of the subtle eye roll—I swear, I can hear her eyes rolling from my office on some days! I'm salty and spicy; she's sparkly and glittery. I like orange and chartreuse; she loves pink and purple. If you walk into the shop and see me in pink and purple while Jeannie wears orange or chartreuse, something is seriously wrong. YOU should probably call 911!

You've heard of a "Jack of All Trades." Allow me to introduce you to our "Jeannie of All Crafts." I believe she's been crocheting since she could talk. Additionally, she's been knitting for decades, learning directly from my mother.

Her extensive list of crafting activities includes:

  • Sewing
  • Embroidery
  • Cross-Stitch
  • Resin Art
  • Beading
  • Jewelry Making
  • Macrame
  • Baking, which she has done professionally
  • Quilling
  • Cardmaking
  • Zentangle
  • Scrapbooking

And Jeannie is serious about her scrapbooking. Every quarter, you might find me in a bit of a frenzy trying to run the show without Jeannie. That's when she heads off to host her scrapbook retreats, and I wouldn't dare interfere with that!

She is also actively involved in her church and leads a non-profit organization called The Little Angels, which repurposes old wedding dresses into burial gowns for stillborn infants.

Additionally, Jeannie is a licensed esthetician who has set up her practice in our dressing room, offering waxing and facial services. Truly, there isn't much that Jeannie can't do!

While much of her crafting is for personal enjoyment, her exquisite creations can be found in her Etsy shop, JeannieBsDesigns. Yes, she does resin art, too! Check out her stunning resin pens and crochet hooks at JeanniebsDesigns.
