A Little About Rowan

Rowan is a British yarn company founded in 1978 and internationally known for its exceptional yarns and sophisticated design collections for hand knitting and crochet. When Rowan entered the U.S. market in the mid-1980s, it sparked a wave of excitement that helped shape modern knitting culture. With a strong focus on natural fibers, rich color palettes, and fashion-forward design, Rowan has long been considered one of the gold standards in the yarn world.

Pioneers of Designer-Led Collections

Rowan also pioneered the designer-led model we know today. Their early collaboration with Kaffe Fassett changed the industry by placing designers front and center, leading to ongoing partnerships with many of the UK’s most respected designers and the launch of Rowan Magazine in 1986—a beloved, semi-annual source of inspiration that continues today.

Only a small number of retailers worldwide are selected as Rowan Flagship Stores. These shops serve as ambassadors for the brand and offer a complete Rowan experience, and we’re incredibly proud to be among them.

As a flagship store, we carry nearly the full Rowan yarn range along with an extensive library of printed pattern books and magazines. We also feature a wide variety of Rowan samples, thanks to our talented sample makers, so that you can see, touch, and try on many of the designs. From time to time, we host Rowan trunk shows as well, bringing even more of their collections into the shop.
