For one unforgettable fall day, downtown Guthrie is transforming into Stars Hollow!

On Saturday, September 19, local businesses will be getting into the spirit with Gilmore Girls-inspired activities, experiences, and plenty of small-town charm. The celebration is organized by A Novel Idea Bookshop, with businesses throughout downtown creating their own little piece of Stars Hollow.

Spend the day exploring Guthrie, visiting participating shops, grabbing something delicious, and seeing what surprises are waiting around town. Knit, People, Knit!

Naturally, SWAK is getting into the Stars Hollow spirit with an all-day Knit-a-Thon from 10–6.

Bring your knitting or crochet, drop in whenever you like, and stay for a little while or settle in for the day. There’s no required project and no registration needed — just come ready to stitch, visit, and enjoy the festivities. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

In the spirit of Stars Hollow’s own community-minded Knit-a-Thon, we’ll also be shining a little extra attention on our Tiny Toppers campaign. Making a donated hat is absolutely not required, but if you’ve ever thought about joining our local hat-making effort, this will be a great chance to learn more.

And because no Stars Hollow gathering should run short on refreshments, we’ll have local donuts, fresh popcorn, coffee and tea, plus cold drinks available throughout the day.

Come knit awhile, shop for yarn, explore downtown, and make a day of Stars Hollow in Guthrie!
