Stitches are picked up along each front edge and neck back and worked in garter stitch to create the buttonless front bands that provide a nice frame for the piece as well as some structure. 

The marled effect created by holding 2 strands of Serena in different colors together creates a beautiful, speckled fabric that not only adds visual interest but also provides an opportunity to play with different color combinations to create your own unique look.
